Senior Tax Preparer

Waxahachie, TX

We are looking for an experienced senior accountant/tax preparer to join our accounting firm.  We are requiring 4-6 years of public accounting experience, CPA is a plus.  We  have a dynamic group of accountants and room for one more “dynamic” accountant. .

Duties of the Senior Accountant/Tax Preparer

The overall duties of the Senior Accountant/Tax Preparer will include working directly with clients to provide a wide range of accounting, tax and business consulting services. The services include assisting, preparing and compiling financial statements, quarterly/monthly write up services, sales tax preparation, payroll preparation and quarterly reporting, tax planning and individual and corporate tax preparation. Ensuring the integrity of our accounting information and records, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions. Able to maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.

Able to produce payroll by computer processing, printing checks, and verifying the finished product. Files all federal, state and local tax documents by preparing tax returns, state pages and federal, state, and municipal returns, extensions and quarterly payments. This position will also have some marketing responsibilities.


  • Must have a 4 year accounting degree

  • Must have or be interested in obtaining their CPA exam

  • Must have 3-5 years experience in public accounting

  • Excellent knowledge of financial accounting matters

  • Excellent knowledge of individual tax law

  • Good understanding of corporate tax law

  • Excellent knowledge of payroll processing and quarterly/monthly reporting

  • Comfortable dealing with representatives of IRS/Unemployment

Software Knowledge

  • QuickBooks

  • Lacerte

  • Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/Windows


4 to 6 years experience is a must

Accounting degree is preferred but not required.

Pay is 85k annual DOE and Degree.
