Job Description

QC Inspector:

QC inspector shall be responsible for the Receiving, 1st Piece and Final Inspections of materials, parts and assemblies for conformance to predetermined standards, specifications, drawings, tolerances and quality procedures. He/she will follow established inspection guidelines to conduct critical visual, dimensional, mechanical and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, materials and assemblies.

Minimal Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years minimum QC experience in machining and metal fabrication.

  • Must be able to speak English along with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have working knowledge of inspection techniques, tools and equipment such as gages, meters, calipers and micrometers; CMM experience a major plus.

  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, perform basic math and apply GD&T principles.

  • Must be able to perform complex and critical inspection procedures which may require special set-up of new or unique equipment.

  • Ability to interpret Engineering specification sheets to obtain product information with regards to materials, dimensions and cosmetic requirements.

  • Must be able to work well alone, with a team and with minimal supervision.

  • Must be self-motivated, possess analytical skills and perform duties with great attention to detail.

  • Experience working in an ISO9001 environment.

  • Excellent knowledge of all Windows PC applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Will verify conformity of all incoming, in-process and completed product, components and assemblies by conducting visual and dimensional checks per applicable drawings, specifications and customer requirements.

  • Will document inspection results, complete reports and logs and input data into quality database.

  • Will accurately perform and complete First Article Inspection Reports.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, push and stand for long periods of time with the ability to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.

  • Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment.

  • Occasionally perform routine quality audits of controlled manufacturing areas for material identification, traceability, equipment calibration etc., document results and create reports under the direction of the Quality Manager.

  • Determine methods of inspection to be used, perform complex set-ups to support the component qualification process.

  • Will document results of inspection findings including detailed descriptions/discrepancies and monitor corrective actions implemented to inspection findings.

  • Build and promote effective working relationships with cross-functional groups.

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
