Service Assistant 


A local company in Pelham, Alabama is growing and is looking for candidates interested in joining their team as a Service Assistant. This is an 'in-office' position, not remote. The Service Assistant is responsible for overseeing communication and scheduling between our clients and our service technicians. Experience working in the technology industry is a benefit, but not crucial to success in this role. The right candidate will be comfortable switching priorities frequently and communicating between internal and external contacts confidently. To be successful in this role, the Service Assistant will be a diligent note-taker, a willing learner, and a flexible team-player.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Respond promptly to all incoming client services inquiries via both phone and email communication.

  • Schedule service technicians for appointments to meet the needs and expectations of clients.

  • Creatively develop solutions alongside service technicians to meet and exceed client expectations and deliver a high level of satisfaction.

  • Coordinate with third-party service providers as necessary.

  • Diligently track and maintain records of client communication and services provided.

  • Discuss service upgrades and membership with clients to increase profitability of the service department.

  • Take detailed, organized notes at offsite and onsite meetings to collect and disperse project information internally and externally.

  • Occasionally drive to project sites and partner offices to distribute and retrieve project materials.

  • Assist in pre-service project coordination.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively handle stressful situations and address client concerns with respect, professionalism, and accuracy.

  • Confidence in client communications via in-person, email, and phone.

  • Comfort with educating clients on service offerings and selling service.

  • 1 year of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: customer service, client relationship management, sales.

  • Dedication to accuracy and detail.

  • Ability to discreetly handle sensitive information.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Reliable transportation to commute to our office and to job sites.

  • Comfort learning to use new software programs.

  • Knowledge of appropriate software including: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat

  • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance


Our client is a fast growing Low Voltage Contractor with offices in Birmingham and Atlanta. They design, install, services, and inspects technology systems in commercial, healthcare, educational and government facilities. Systems include Fire Alarm, Security, Structured Cabling, Audio Visual, Wifi and more.
